Im interested in building a new computer. Need help with Motherboard and Processor?

I havent built a computer in 6 years and it seems alot of things have changed. Mine mobo fried i believe. What I have is an atx case with a 500w power supply. My original computer was 3.2ghz amd 64 processorm, k8v deluxe motherboard, 256 mb 9600 radeon vid card. Now I see that alot of processors are less ghz, but maybe because they have dual core processors? really lost with the new terminology. What im asking is what would be the best processor and mobo as far as price and quality. Really looking to spend less than 200 combined for both. I really just play a few games like battlfield 2 and do some music recording. But I would like something that wont be outdated too soon and should not die in 5 years like my last one. Im guessing I would want some sort of video card that is pci express x16? any help would be appreciated.
