Atheists beliefs on humans common ancestry with ape:like creatures?

All living organisms on the planet, from mammals to insects to bacteria, share a common ancestor. Yes we can evolve into a different species but at the rate we are progressing as a civilization I think humans won't evolve into a new species unless individuals voluntarily do so(there won't be a need for further evolution unless you count things like cybornetic implants as evolution).
