Why does Christians lie about Santa Claus?

We try to de-empathize about Santa Claus and shift the focus to Christ's birth and and marvel how magnificent the first Christmas Present was, is, and is to come. On occasion, we re-tell about the original St. Nicholas and tell about his charity and good deeds he did in Christ's name.
